Year 2012’s International Engine of the Year Award in the auto world industry was bagged by 1.0 litre Ford EcoBoost Engine. The award ceremony was held at Stuttgart in Germany. Ford EcoBoost is a 3 cylinder turbo engine. Volkswagen’s 1.4 litre TSI Twincharger and Ferrari’s 4.5 litre V8 were the other major competitors. Ford EcoBoost engine also bagged the award for Best under 1.0 litre engine segment too.

The award decision was done by voting among 76 popular auto world journalists. Ford EcoBoost got 401 points while Volkswagen’s 1.4 litre TSI engine got 288 votes. Meanwhile this Volkwagen engine won the best Engine title in the 1.0 litre to 1.4 litre segment. Ford EcoBoost has got two power variants- 100PS and 125 PS. This engine was first installed in Ford Focus. Ford C-MAX and B-MAX will have this engine shorter.

In India Ford EcoSport will have the prestigious Ford EcoBoost Engine. This is the first time Ford is winning this award. In the year 211, this award was won by Fiat’s 0.9 litre two cylinder twin air engine. Ferrari’s 4.8 litre V8 engine bagged the title of “Best Performance Engine”.
