We have been hearing about Mahindra mini xylo for ages. Time is up..much waited mini xylo hit the roads as Mahindra Quanto.Quanto is a sub 4 meter MUV which boasts of the capacity to seat 7.Mini xylo will be a more reasonable name suiting the new vehicle .Designers would have designed it that way.Quanto is just an additive to impose its own identity

Quanto is available in four trims entry C2 ,mid C4,top C6 and premium C8 . Prices are Rs.5.82 lakh for the C2, Rs.6.35 lakh for the C4, Rs.6.86 lakh for C6 and Rs.7.36 lakh for C8

Rear end has now got a spare wheel mounted on the fifth door,might be   an attempt to make it more sporty

It seems Indian automobile market is changing so fast to accommodate needs of users .In terms of new segment introductions Maruti Ertiga  was one of a kind ,Mercedes B class was another,Renault duster added some muscle to the smaller SUV segment and now it’s the turn of mahindra with its Quanto. Quanto can be ordered either as a seven seater or a five seater.Considering  its size Quanto will be well suited to be used as a  five seater .When used as a five seater it resembles more of an estate than an MPV

Main USP of Quanto is its 1.5 l mhawk engine ,It is a three cylinder version .Most  attractive part is that it is a dual turbo engine ,ie  low rpm performance aka city performance will be much better than single turbo diesels . Engine is very responsive and peppy. Though it could be called a performance engine it has got a ARAI fuel efficiency of 17 km/ltr

For an urban condition Mahindra Quanto is well equipped,It will be well suited as an alternative to premium hatches or entry level sedans rather than a seven seater  MPV
