Newly revealed Mercedes Benz B-Class Specifications and Images
The all new Mercedes Benz B-Class was revealed today at the Buddh International Circuit in India. It is an MPV segment Sports Tourer vehicle from Mercedes. This MPV is an entry level Mercedes hatchback for the Indian auto world. Currently Mercedes is planning to introduce two variants of Mercedes Benz B-Class in India – B180 petrol version and B180 CDI diesel model. Currently India showrooms will only have B180 petrol variant only. The petrol model will have a 1.6 liter 4-cylinder turbo engine which can generate a maximum power of 120bhp and 150bhp at different tuning states.
The diesel variant has got a 1.8 liter turbo diesel engine generating 108bhp and 135bhp at varying tuning states. The gear box is 6 speed manual transmission or 7-speed dual clutch automatic. The interior has got lots of leg and headroom space claiming it to be very spacious. Mercedes has given higher priority to safety as well as driving comfort in this vehicle. The Electronic Stability Systems are also improved.
Audi Q3 and BMW X1crossover are the main competitors of this vehicle. They are mainly targeting the youth in India to get attracted towards this entry level MPV. Mercedes Benz B-Class will be in Indian auto world car showrooms most probably by September/October. The price tag will be below 25lakhs. The plan of Mercedes reveals that it is finding very difficult to create its own living space with stiff competence from Audi and BMW.
