Renault Duster in three engine variants will be released in India on July 4

The good news in the auto world is Renault Duster will shortly run into India car showrooms. Renault officially announced the launch date of Renault Duster as July 4 in India. It is an SUV from the French car maker Renault. Renault will launch 2 petrol variants and 4 diesel variants of Duster in India. The petrol variant will have a 1.6 litre engine while the diesel model will have 1.5 litre K9K turbo engine.

Renault Duster diesel variants are named as RxE, RxL and RxZ, While RxE and RxL variants are available for petrol model.  The 1461cc diesel RxE and RxL variants can generate a peak power of 85PS at 3750 rpm while diesel RxZ variant can generate 110 PS at 3900rpm. The diesel RxL model is available at both 85PS and 110PS power variants.

The gear shift is 6-speed manual transmission for the 110PS models and 5-speed manual transmission for the 85PS variants.  The mileage is respectively 19kpl for the 110PS models and 20.5kpl for the 85PS variants. Both petrol and diesel variants have a large array of features like chrome finished front grille, immobilizer, power steering and tiltable steering wheels.  All the models have got keyless entry with centre locking.

The RxE model have additional features like ABS, EBD, fog lamps, defroster and an excellent 2 DIN audio system. It also has optional 16 inch alloy wheels and dual airbags. The RxZ is the premium variant of Renault Duster. It has got rear parking sensors, 16 inch alloy wheels and dual air bags along with the above mentioned features of RxL and RxE variants. It also has ABS and reverse parking sensors.

The 1598cc petrol RxE and RxL Renault Duster variants can generate a peak power of 102PS at 5850rpm. The gear shift is 5-speed manual. The mileage of the petrol variant will be around 13.3kpl. The pricing will start from around 7.2 lakhs. Let’s hope this SUV will compete well against the better engine built Ford Ecosport in the auto world.
