Toyota regained the 2012 world’s largest car manufacturer title
The first quarter results of 2012 gave Toyota as the largest car manufacturer of 2012. Toyota had sold a total of 2.49 million units sold while General Motors had sold 2.28 units. These 2.49 million units were sold across five different brands of Toyota. Earlier this title was held by General Motors. Volkswagen was in the third spot will 2.16 million units sold.
In the year 2011, Toyota’s car selling was deeply affected by various natural calamities. They also had to recall some of their car models in 2011 which ultimately ended them with 7.9 million units sold. Currently Toyota is expecting double profit in this year. They also have plans to launch new car models. According to recent trends Volkswagen will overtake Toyota within a few years in the car selling. These reports are published by Bloomberg Reports.
