up Volkswagen Up declared as 2012 World Car of the Year

New York International Auto Show declared Volkswagen Up as the 2012 World Car of the Year.  It has got 3-door and 5-door hatchback models. It was launched in 2011. It has got 1.0 litre petrol engine with 5-speed manual suspension. Volkswagen Up has two engine power options-60 PS and 75 PS. Total displacement is 999cc. Volkswagen Up has defeated 34 other car models including BMW 3 series and Porsche 911. The quality of materials, engine and steering control made Volkswagen Up to stand up among the all 34 contenders.

 

911 Volkswagen Up declared as 2012 World Car of the Year

Porsche 911

Mercedes Benz S250 CDI bagged the World Green Car title. Porshe 911 won the World performance Car title of the year.  Porshe 911 is a 2 door sports coupe. It has got an all new chasis and an Aluminium finished body.

Range Rover Evoque

Range Rover Evoque bagged World Car Design of the Year. It is always admired for its stunning looks and body finish. Range Rover Evoque had defeated Citreon DS5 and Volkswagen Up.
